Loren R. Barron


Loren R. Barron is a Director in the firm’s Professional Liability Department.  Ms. Barron concentrates her practice in professional liability defense representing lawyers, accountants, and other professionals in the Court of Chancery, Superior Court, and Federal courts. 

Education and Background

Ms. Barron was born and raised in Delaware.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha of Delaware Chapter, and Sigma Tau Delta, English Honors Society.  Ms. Barron was recipient of the Edward Arlo Willing Scholarship Award as well as the Arak Award for first-year writers.  She also served as a student member of the University of Delaware’s Appellate Judicial Board.

She obtained her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, on a merit scholarship grant where she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi, Cardozo Inn, Honors Chapter, and a semi-finalist in the Phi Alpha Delta Closing Statement Competition. 

Ms. Barron served for three years as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware for the Honorable John E. Babiarz, Jr., and the Honorable Diane Clarke Streett.  

Prior to her Delaware clerkships, Ms. Barron worked as an appellate practitioner in private practice in Bradenton, Florida.  She also served as a Federal Judicial Intern for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  

Ms. Barron also volunteered for The Ocean Conservancy in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she developed litigation strategies to protect marine life in Florida’s coastal waters.

Before attending law school, Ms. Barron worked in Delaware as a legal assistant in the field of Corporate Bankruptcy and as a freelance writer for a local newspaper. 

She enjoys gardening, landscape design, and reading.   

Professional Activities

Ms. Barron is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, Litigation Section, and Women and the Law Section serving as Chair of the Awards Committee (2015-present). 

Publications and Lectures

  • March 4, 2016 – Panelist at the DSBA’s 24th Annual Women and the Law Section Retreat in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on the topic “Have We Come a Long Way Baby?” discussing career development, mentorship, and workplace bullying.
